Volvo to launch S60 on 10th March

Swedish car maker, Volvo has announced to launch their S60 sedan in India on the 10th March, 2011. After launching the SUV XC60 in December last year, S60 will be Volvo’s first car to be launched in India this year.
According to report, Volvo will launch the S60 in both diesel D5 and petrol T6 engine options. We don’t have the exact details on the engine specs as on of now but we expect a similar D5 that powers the XC60 and XC90 SUV’s. A 2.4L diesel generating 205 bhp and 42 kgm torque, and a powerful petrol T6 delivering 304 bhp and 44.6 kgm torque are what we expect to be installed as engine options in the S60 India variant.
If this is the case, then in terms of power, Volvo S60 D5 will find itself between BMW 320d and Audi A4 3.0L TDi while the T6 will be between BMW 330i and Audi A4 3.2L V6. Volvo S60 does a 0-100 kmph in less than 6.5 seconds and has a top speed of 250 kmph. Expect S60 D5 to be priced anywhere around Rs 30 lakhs and S60 T6 around Rs 34 lakhs.
