Gary Barlow: Cheryl Cole persuaded me to do X Factor

Cheryl Cole may be enjoying an “indefinite” break from showbiz… but perhaps she should think about an alternative job.
She would be perfect, it seems, as a careers adviser.New X Factor judge Gary Barlow revealed that he was persuaded to accept the reality show gig after she gave him a pep talk

The Take That star has admitted he had a full and frank heart-to-heart with Chezza after she was released from the US version of the programme.Gary, 40, said: “She really told it to me like the TV company hadn’t told it to me.

“She told me how long the audition days would be, and the frustrating times, and what was difficult and what wasn’t. She was offering everything I needed to know so I could make a decision on whether I wanted to do it. It was very sweet of her.”Hmmm, perhaps it was the “long days” and “frustrations” which kept Cheryl, 28, away from the British X Factor.

X Factor boss Simon Cowell yesterday revealed he offered the Girls Aloud singer her old job back on the UK show … but she turned him down.

Gary also admitted in a chat with Radio 1’s Chris Moyles, that he has been embroiled in a SECOND spat on the series – after X Factor bosses refused him his favourite category. The singer, already not talking to Louis Walsh, is fuming with show chiefs for not giving him his preferred choice.

Again it came after Cheryl told him he should be more forthright. He added: “She said you should be able to tell them which category you want. So the whole way through I was telling them I want the ‘X’, I want the ‘X’… and of course I didn’t get it, they gave me something else.”
