Rutgers Women’s Basketball Announces 2011-12 Schedule

Rutgers will play in eight televised games, highlighted by a national television appearance on ESPN2 as the Scarlet Knights host St. John’s in the Play 4Kay (formerly known as WBCA Pink Zone). RU will also play a pair of games on ESPNU, including a highly anticipated match-up against Tennessee.
The remaining five contests will be featured on the CBS Sports Network. All non-televised games can been seen live on RVision

The Scarlet Knights open the 2011-12 campaign hosting three of its first four contests at the RAC, where RU has posted a 110-17 mark since 2002-03, including a 12-1 record in 2010-11.

Rutgers begins the year with a pair of rematches, taking on California (Nov. 13) and Boston College on (Nov. 16). RU hits the road for a match-up with La Salle (Nov. 19), before returning home to take on Lehigh (Nov. 22).

The Scarlet Knights head to warmer climates following the Thanksgiving break for the San Juan Shootout. The two-game tournament has a longstanding tradition which dates back to 1987. Rutgers will face Georgia Tech (Nov. 25) in its first game and wrap up tournament play against Green Bay (Nov. 26).

Rutgers will then return to Piscataway to host Temple (Nov. 30). The Scarlet Knights begin the month of December on the road, facing Florida (Dec. 2) and Miami (Dec. 5). The contest against the Gators will be played at a neutral site in Daytona Beach, Fla. at the Ocean Center.

The Scarlet Knights return to New Jersey to begin a three-game homestand, facing off against Fordham (Dec. 8). Tennessee makes its return trip to the RAC (Dec. 13), followed by a clash with Iona (Dec. 18).

Rutgers wraps up its 2011 non-conference slate on the road at George Washington (Dec. 30). The BIG EAST slate opens with back-to-back home games against Syracuse (Jan. 3) and Cincinnati (Jan. 7). The Scarlet Knights will travel to Pittsburgh (Jan. 10), before returning home to host Louisville (Jan. 14).

Two consecutive road games at St. John’s (Jan. 17) and USF (Jan. 21) are followed by a home match-up against DePaul on Jan. 24. Rutgers will head down to Georgetown (Jan. 29) before finishing out the month at the RAC against Notre Dame (Jan. 31).

The Scarlet Knights will play four of their seven February games on the road, beginning with Connecticut (Feb. 4). In their second meeting of the season, Rutgers will host St. John’s (Feb. 12) before playing a pair of road games at West Virginia (Feb. 15) and Villanova (Feb. 18).

The final three contests of the regular-season will feature a home game against Seton Hall (Feb. 21), a road trip to Providence (Feb. 25), concluding with the home finale against Marquette (Feb. 27).
